Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L) meteorologists are closely monitoring the developing weather conditions. JCP&L is prepared to activate its storm response and Incident Command System plans.

In the event outages occur due to severe weather, customers without power are encouraged to report their outage by calling 1-888-LIGHTSS (1-888-544-4877), clicking the “Report Outage” link on www.firstenergycorp.com, or by texting out to 544487.

Customers should immediately report downed wires to 1-888-LIGHTSS (1-888-544-4877) or call their local police department. JCP&L reminds customers to stay away from downed wires, even if they believe they are no longer carrying electricity. Extra caution should be used in areas where downed lines are tangled with trees or other debris. Motorists are cautioned to treat intersections with inoperable traffic signals as four-way stops.

Roosevelt Residents:

We have been working for 3 months to have a NJ MVC Mobile Unit come to Roosevelt to help you obtain a REAL ID. The Director of Legislative Affairs has informed us that a Mobile Unit can come to Roosevelt on 8/19/25, and they will be here from 9am to 3pm.

You will have to make an appointment at: https://telegov.njportal.com/njmvcmobileunit/

You can go to the link on 8/5/25 at 11am to book your appointment. We will post this flyer on the Home page of the borough website and make it a hyperlink so that you can click on the link rather than type out the address in a web browser. If you do not have a computer, you can go to borough hall on 7/22-7/24 or 7/28-7/29 between 9:30 and 3:30 and Ana will register you manually with the Director of Legislative Affairs.

The Roosevelt Seniors Group is organizing a bus trip on 08/22/2025 to the Jewish Museum in NYC for a special tour of the Ben Shahn, On Nonconformity exhibit.

ALL Roosevelt residents are invited! However, there are only 45 seats available.

Date: Friday, August, 22

Price: $20.00 (includes bus fare/tip, museum admission will be free for us). Lunch is NOT included. There is a café in the museum and nearby restaurants.

Transportation:  
10:00am – Coach bus departs from the Roosevelt Post Office
11:30am – Bus arrives at Jewish Museum
3:00pm -- Bus departs from the Jewish Museum
4:25pm – Bus arrives at Roosevelt Post Office

Both the bus and the museum are handicap-accessible. Wheelchairs are available for use in the museum.|
The group will be divided into an early-tour, and later-tour group, so you can plan your lunch based on the tour group you are in.
